Evraz steel output falls 2.3% to 6.8 mln tns in January–June

MOSCOW, Jul 26 (PRIME) -- Steel production of U.K.-based mining giant Evraz, which operates mainly in Russia, shrank 2.3% on the year to 6.832 million tonnes in January–June, the company said in a statement on Thursday.

Cast iron production fell 7.7% on the year to 5.252 million tonnes in the period.

In April–June, the company’s steel output fell 3.9% on the quarter to 3.481 million tonnes, but cast iron production rose 4.3% to 2.681 million tonnes.
